Install the Minutillo.com certificate.

Instructions

When you visit a secure commercial site a certificate (which contains a key for the encryption) is downloaded to your browser. It is automatically accepted because it is signed by a large corporation and their certificates are built into your browser.

Minutillo.com is non-commercial and based on free software, so in keeping with the hand-made theme I have become my own certificate authority. What that means for you is that your browser doesn't trust my certificates automatically. You must give your browser permission to use my certificate.

For most modern browsers that is not hard. Just visit the next page and the process will begin automatically. You should view the certificate and then authorize your browser to install it permenantly. Once you've done that logging into any Minutillo.com site will be secure and painless.

Your corporate firewall may interfere with this. Or your corporate installation of a browser may not let you install a certificate. Or you just might be nervous. I can't do much about that. Remember you don't need the certificate to log in and you don't need to log in to read and view the site.

For IE 5.0+ or IE 6.0 on the PC go here.

For Netscape 6.0+ or recent versions of Mozilla on any OS go here.

For IE 5.0+ on the Mac go here. IE 5 on the Mac does not have a very nice certificate handling feature. You will be forced to create a password and from then on will have to use that password for all secure sites. I really don't recommend it. Consider using Mozilla.

Other browsers, let me know. The Mozilla pages should work.
